<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
Off-road driving is a lot of fun. You can do it as a sport,
a way to spend great time with family and friends or a way to get around while
hunting or camping. Whatever the case, it is not just enough to have a huge
truck with huge tires. Here are a few important things to consider if you want
your vehicle to be unstoppable off-road. <o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b>Get good ground clearance<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
When driving in harsh terrain, the underside of your vehicle
is exposed to a lot of tree trunks, rocks and boulders sticking out of the
ground and a very uneven ground surface. Ground clearance is the space between
the underside of your vehicle and the terrain; you will need a lot of it if you
do not want to do any under<span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">-</span>body
damage. Even with good ground clearance, you still need skid plates when rock
crawling. The steel skid plates can protect your gas tank, exhaust piles and
other exposed items on the underside of your vehicle.<o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b>Get your angles right<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
There are three important angles to off-road driving;
approach, departure and break over. The approach angle is the steepest hill the
vehicle can climb without slamming the front bumper against the slope. The
break over is the steepest crest that the vehicle can get over while the
departure angle represent the steepest slope the vehicle can come down without
slamming the rear bumper. It is advisable to have a lot of ground clearance and
short overhangs for great angles.<o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b>Wheel articulation<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
When driving off-road, your wheels have two important roles,
maximizing traction while maintaining stability. For off-road adventures, it is
preferable to get a solid axle instead o<span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">f</span> independent suspension when your sway bars are disconnected
since it gives better wheel articulation. Independent suspension is best for
desert driving or driving in sandy places<span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b>Get the right tires<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
You cannot go off-roading with street tires, unless you want
to walk back home. You should get all-terrain tires or mid terrain tires for
off-road driving. Good off-road tires have deep treads, tough sidewalls to
withstand the harsh environment and the right rubber compound. 33inch and
35inch are the most popular off-roading tires. When driving off-road, reduce
the inflation a little bit for greater contact patch between the tires and
ground surface for maximum traction. <o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b>Get a high mountain air intake<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
You need a high air intake to avoid sucking water into your
engine since it will hydrolock your engine. This can happen when your vehicle
travels through a shallow puddle. You can use a snorkel to allow the vehicle to
drive while completely submerged in water. It is important to also have good
driving technique along with the high air intake to prevent hydrolocking your
engine.<o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
Other items that you should have in your off-road driving
checklist include at least two spare tires, a wench in case you need to get
pulled out of a muddy patch, a survival kit<span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">, a</span> first aid box and a handy toolbox. </div>

The lifespan of tires varies depending on so many factors,
making it hard to tell exactly how long your tires will last. Things like your
driving habits, the climate, road conditions and care all influence how well
your tires perform. The basic rules for tire lifespan is that your tires should
be inspected regularly after five years of use and that tires should last for a
maximum of ten years. Even if your tires appear to be in great condition after
ten years, there is still concern about the performance of these tires. With
tires, proper care can extend the lifespan tremendously. Proper care includes
maintaining correct air pressure, regular tire rotation and good vehicle
maintenance. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The manufacturing date of your tires is the DOT number on
the sidewall of the tires. This manufacturing date is a great guide as to when
you should have your tires inspected regularly or replaced. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
One of the oldest tricks in the book is using a Lincoln
penny in the tread grove of your tire to see the level of wearing. According to
this tread depth check, your tires are still legal if the top of Abe’s head is
obscured by the thread. When you can see the part of the penny above Abe’s
head, then you are ready for new tires as this will be about 2/32” of the remaining
depth in the treads, which is not safe for driving in adverse conditions such
as slush and snow. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Unfortunately, it is not that simple when it comes to tire
maintenance and replacement. Tires often do not need so much tread depth for
traction on dry roads. You have probably seen the slick tires used by racers
that do not have any treads at all. But tires require tread designs and depth
for traction on wet and slushy roads. This is because the water depth, vehicle
speed and weigh, tread design and depth all determine how fast your tires can
stop your car. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
If wet roads, rain and snow are a concern for your regular
driving conditions, you should replace your tires at 4/32” tread depth. Studies
have shown that worn tires sacrifice a lot of wet traction. With the typical
speed limit of 70mph, vehicles that have tires with the minimum 2/32” of tread
depth take about 100 more feet to stop compared to vehicles with the 4/32”
tread depth. This shows just how dangerous it is driving in these conditions
with a worn out tire. The water on the road cannot be compressed; tread depth
is what allows the water to escape through the groves in the tires. Your
vehicle looses traction when the water cannot escape fast enough and the tires
are forced to hydroplane on the water surface.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">It even gets worse on snow-covered roads and a
minimum tread depth of 5/32” is recommended for driving in such conditions. You
need more room to compress the snow in the grooves and release it as the tires
roll. </span><br />

Vehicle problems are often unpredictable and unexpected. If
your car breaks down on the highway and completely refuses to start, there
could be a couple of common reasons. Here are a few and what you can do about
it:<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Dead battery<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Sometimes you may forget to switch off the radio or cut the
lights off when you pack your car. After remaining on for hours on end, the lights
will eventually drain your battery. Once your battery is dead, there is no
power to send electric power to the starter motor and therefore, the engine
will not start. The only way to get the car to start again is by boosting your
battery using jumper cables connected to another car battery.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Fuel pump failure<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
If you do not take your vehicle to the service shop for
maintenance as per schedule, you may experience a couple of unexpected problems
with your vehicle. The in-tank electrical fuel pump failure is a common reason
for no-start problems in cars. You should also avoid allowing the fuel level to
stay below ¼ for long, or running out of fuel completely as this can also cost
premature fuel pump failure. You will need to replace the fuel pump in case it
is ruined. If this happens while you are on the road, just call for a tow
truck. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Timing belt failure<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
For most vehicles, the timing belt should be replaced after
about 60,000 miles of normal use. If you do not change the timing belt before
it breaks, you can cause some expensive damage to your vehicle. Get the timing
belt checked and changed a short while before the recommended mileage level of
your vehicle to avoid timing belt failure. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Rusty battery terminals<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
If your battery terminals are rusty or coated, they are not
able to transmit electrical power through the cables. You need to find some
sand paper and rub off the coating or rust on the battery terminals for full
contact to complete the electrical circuit of the vehicle. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Electrical problems<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
No-start problems may also be due to an electrical fault in
the circuit of the vehicle. Electrical problems in the ignition switch in
particular can give you a hard time while trying to start your vehicle. You
need to take it into the service shop for a full electrical diagnostic and
repairs to avoid having this problem again in the future. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Fuel mix problems<o:p></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">If your fuel line is clogged up, if you have
impurities in the fuel or if you have the wrong mix of fuel, the fuel will not
ignite properly and you vehicle will not start. Worn out piston rings and
failing exhaust valves can prevent the level of compression necessary to ignite
the fuel mix. Weak and missing sparks due to bad spark plug cables can also
prevent the fuel from igniting to start the engine. Problems with the spark
plugs could be attributed to a faulty system or bad spark plug timing among
other issues.</span><br />

Maintaining your tires can help you save a lot of money.
Tire maintenance includes regular practices such as alignment, rotation and inspection.
The tires carry the entire weight of your vehicle and without them; your car
would not be able to move, so why not invest in quality tire maintenance?<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b>What can tire
maintenance do for you?<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Just like any other part of your vehicle, your tires get old
and worn out depending on how you take care of them. Taking good care of your
tires can extend their lifespan and you would not have to buy new tires as
often. Doing things as simple as checking the pressure to ensure that they are
properly inflated can make a huge difference. The lifespan of tires that are
consistently under inflated by 20% reduces by 20%. Instead of your tires taking
you the recommended 60, 000 miles, they will only handle 48,000 miles and that
makes a colossal difference. This is because underinflated tires do not wear
evenly, and before you know it, you will not be able to drive your vehicle
safely. Rotating your tires regularly also makes sure the wear is evenly
distributed and this makes them last longer.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Proper tire maintenance also saves you fuel. If you are
using excess fuel and cannot find any explanation from your engine or driving
habits, you should check if your tires are properly inflated because under
inflated tires are one of the most common reasons for using excess fuel. This
is because there is a higher rolling resistance and your engine has to apply
more effort to move the vehicle.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Your own personal safety and that of the vehicle occupants
are also a reason why tire maintenance is important. You rely on the brakes and
tires to grip the road and bring the car to a stop in emergency situations.
They should be in ideal working conditions at all times for your safety.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b>Tire maintenance tips<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">

</span></span><!--[endif]-->Always inspect your tires regularly. If you do
not have a lot of driving experience, it is quite difficult to notice when one
of your tires has a problem. Take the initiative to inspect your tires at least
once or twice a week before you roll out of the driveway. You should also have
your tires professionally inspected every year. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">

</span></span><!--[endif]-->Check your pressure at the gas station since it
affects the vehicle handling and braking, especially during rainy weather. You
should always check the tire pressure before a long trip. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;">·<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal;">
</span></span><!--[endif]-->All tires have a recommended load capacity and
you should keep this in mind when buying tires or loading your vehicle. You
should avoid loading the tires beyond the recommended load capacity as a matter
of safety first. Sudden tire destruction may be caused by the excess heat that
builds up when driving with overloaded tires. <o:p></o:p></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">If you are planning on doing any auto repairs on your own probably because you want to save money or that you consider yourself a handy person, there are a couple of things you should beware of to avoid common mistakes. DIY repairs have their own fair of challenges. You’re less likely to do the job as meticulously as a professional would but sometimes it’s worth a try.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">But in the interest of saving you a couple of dollars, let’s look at some common things to avoid when performing auto repairs on your own.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraph" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Here’s the thing, not all auto repairs can be converted to DIY projects. There are some repairs that must be handled by a professional because not only are they potentially dangerous but also do require a high level of skill and experience to be done right. For instance, replacing your windshield, swapping a transmission or changing your brake pads are tasks you would want to leave to a professional. It’s not worth risking potential injury and spending your time and money only to require the services of a professional later on.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">There are countless resources online that provide information on auto repairs that can be done at home. You need to start reading this information and make sure you are well versed with the repair jobs you can handle. Start with the easier projects for beginners and then work your way up as you understand more about your car and the way it works. Don’t just start working on the car blindly before you get any information on what you are supposed to do and why.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">It’s easy to get confused after you remove parts from your vehicle and forget what goes where. To avoid this, make use of proper labelling as you are removing the parts. Write down all the areas that you are tampering with so that you can easily fix them back together when you’re done.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">The type of oil you use on your engine can really affect your vehicle’s performance. Consider the weight and type of oil recommended by the manufacturer and strictly follow the guidelines given. Using the wrong oil may not cause the engine to fail instantly but it deteriorates over time and causes your car to be inefficient. Most importantly, don’t forget the necessary oil changes that are required to keep your car’s engine running efficiently.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">If your car's transmission is giving you trouble, the first thought that might cross your mind is how much that trouble's going to cost you. After all, transmissions aren't cheap - so how can you be sure that you're getting the best estimate possible?</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Wondering how much you should pay for a rebuilt transmissions? Take a look at these tips on getting the best estimate; they'll ensure that you walk away with a newly functioning transmission <em>without </em>spending an arm and a leg.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><strong>Be as Descriptive as Possible.</strong> The more you can tell your mechanic about what's wrong with your car, the more likely it is that he or she will be able to diagnose the problem right away. You don't even have to be a car expert to describe what's wrong with your transmission. Tell your transmission repair expert about any sounds and sensations that you've been experiencing.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;">You may feel like you're not making much sense, but trust us - your transmission repair expert can make sense out of what you're saying!</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><strong>Request a Diagnostic.</strong> If your mechanic isn't able to diagnose the problem the first time around, he or she may request a diagnostic test. This may sound expensive and time-consuming, but it's actually extremely simple. The diagnostic test is a fast process that gives the mechanic a concrete idea of what's wrong with your transmission. This is usually delivered in the form of an error code, which the mechanic then uses to pinpoint the specific problem.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Your diagnostic test should be free - and if it's not, take your car to another transmission repair expert, pronto.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><strong>Be Understanding.</strong> There may be times where the diagnostic test doesn't give your mechanic an accurate idea of what's going on with your car. If that's the case, your mechanic will need to actually remove the transmission from your car to get an accurate idea about pricing.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;">If this happens, don't assume that the transmission repair expert is trying to rip you off. In fact, this is often a sign that your mechanic is trying to give you the most fair and accurate price as possible. Should the mechanic need to remove the transmission, expect between $500 to $1000. This should determine the exact problem with your vehicle.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><strong>What's the Final Cost?</strong> Transmissions are not cheap; therefore, it's in your best interest to expect to pay $1000+ when your transmission needs to be repaired or rebuilt. Most transmission repairs average between $1400 to $1800 considering the year, make and model of your vehicle. Economy cars and older vehicles will tend to be less expensive while SUVs and luxury cars will usually cost much more.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;">However, now that you know how much a transmission repair should actually cost, you'll be in a better place to ensure that you're not getting ripped off. Make sure your mechanic walks you through every step of the process, as this can help you get a better understanding of why these costs can be so high.</span></div>
<div style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Avenir Next', Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Use these tips to get the best estimate for your rebuilt transmission!</span></div>

Your entire car performance depends on how well the four wheels handle the road. Many people often focus on engine maintenance and forget all about the wheels that the car rides on. Wheel and tire performance is very important for your safety when driving. The following are some important factors to keep in mind:<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Check your tire pressure<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Depending on how often you drive your car, you may need to check your tire pressure at least once a week. Getting the right tire pressure prolongs the lifespan of the tires, enhances safety and makes your vehicle more economical in fuel usage. Your tire lifespan may reduce by up to 75% even when you are operating at 80% tire pressure. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
You can tell there is a pressure problem when the tires start wearing out faster on the outer edges. Tire blowouts often occur when the tire is under inflated since there is not enough air to hold up the weight of the vehicle. The sidewalls of the tires end up getting flexing beyond their limit and blow out. If you are driving at a high speed, you could easily cause a bad accident. Make sure you inflate the tires according to the tire rating.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Replace your tires<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Replacing all four tires may be costly but it is not expensive as what you may lose in case of an accident. Bald tires should be used on racetracks only. When your tire treads are worn out and you cannot retread them, you need to replace them. The treads enable the tires to grip on to the road surface, which is necessary for breaking and making turns. Worn out tires are also illegal and you can get a fine for riding on tires with a low tread depth. You can buy a tread wear indicator and check the tread depth yourself. Make sure to check all the tires in every main grove and at least two different points along the grove.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Use the right tire for the right weather<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
You cannot use the same tires for summer during winter. Tires come with a variety of ratings. There are some which are all weather and there are specially designed winter rated tires. If you experience heavy winters in your areas with a lot of snow, you should get rated tires for your own safety.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Clean your wheels<o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
You need to clean the wheels when you are washing the car. Avoid washing car wheels when they are still hot as this could cause rapid contraction and weaken the wheel. A lot of mud, grime and dirt often end up covering the wheel and this could affect the way the breaks work. Get some mild soap and water to loosen the grime and dirt and wash off the wheel when it is cool. You can wax or polish the wheel after washing for the finishing. Make sure you get the right rims for your tire so you do not damage the edges of the tire.<o:p></o:p></div>

<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Very few car owners actually go through the auto manual which comes with new cars. As time goes by, automotive repairs of your vehicle become very important. This is due to the fact that with regular use the different parts of a vehicle do not perform like they used to when they were in newer condition. Most US residents, including those living in cities like Tyler and Athens face high repair bills just because they did not service their vehicle in time.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Getting your car serviced every now and then has its benefits. Some of these are:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">1. Less chance of high repair bills:</span></b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"> If you notice that your car tires have become worn out or the car fluids are continuously leaking out or you regularly overlook the dashboard warning lights and still you neglect taking the vehicle to a mechanic, you may incur heavy repair bills when you finally decide to get your precious vehicle repaired. Better would be to do a regular check up of your car to avoid such heavy costs on automotive repairs at one go. It has been noticed that several US citizens, including those residing in cities like Tyler and Henderson have their precious cars checked on a regular basis.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">2. More dependable vehicle:</span></b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"> Nobody would like the idea of getting stranded in the middle of the road. Regular maintenance of your car, like different fluid checks or oil change will ensure that your car serves you for a longer life span.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">3. Better re-sell value:</span></b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"> A person who has his car well maintained will have a better chance of getting a good re-sell value for his car when he decides to trade it in. Nobody would like the idea of purchasing a used car for which the new owner has to pay a fortune to get it in a better working condition.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">4. Environment friendly vehicle: </span></b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Timely maintenance of your vehicle will ensure that it passes all emission tests. This will prove that your car is in perfect running condition. A car which does not blow out smoke and does not make any sort of sound while it is running would add to make this planet a lovely place to live in.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Auto repairs can be really expensive, especially when
you consider the fact that auto repair emergencies happen unexpectedly and
usually after you are done spending the paycheck. The good news is, there are
certain things that you can do to ensure you do not spend a fortune at the auto
repair shop. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Follow the manufacturer’s manual<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">When you buy a car, it comes with a manual from the
manufacturer, recommending how and how often you need to get your car checked.
Unfortunately, many people throw away this manual as soon as they get home,
only to retrieve it once a problem arises. For the sake of your car and your
pocket, pay heed to what the manufacturer has to say. After all, they know the
car best. Get your car checked regularly, even when there is not an obvious
problem. Sometimes an issue will fester below the surface, only to escalate
into a full blown problem at the worst of times. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Handle your car gently<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Do not be rough on your car, as this will only make it
susceptible to damage. Pay attention to where you drive and park your car. If
your car is not made for rough terrain, then do not drive it on such. Drive
carefully and do not lend your car to reckless drivers. And finally, do not
drive when drunk. This will only lead to accidents, which are costly and
sometimes fatal. If you have to clean your auto glass, do it the right way. Do
not use abrasives on your auto glass, this will damage them. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Protect yourself against the financial risks
associated with car ownership by getting a car insurance policy. This way, you
will have some of the costs of your auto repair covered. Footing all your auto
repair bills from your pocket will have a detrimental effect on your finances. And
remember to always ask the auto repair shop whether they work with your
insurance provider. Otherwise, you might have an impossible time filing claims.
<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">If you want to spend less on your auto repairs, choose
a good auto repair shop. Such a shop will not only offer quality services
(which will mean fewer trips to the mechanic) but they will also be transparent
about their charges as well. You do not want a situation where you are asked to
pay additional costs that you had not been told about. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">If you do not take good care of your car, you are very
likely going to incur great costs when you head to the auto repair shop for
repairs, replacement and other maintenance needs. Your car is an important part
of your life, and you should strive to ensure that you do everything possible
to keep it in good shape, and in doing so, avoid expensive auto repairs. Here
is what you should do:</span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">Having a car that needs auto repair can be nerve wracking,

truth is, many car owners wait until they require auto services to start
searching for a reputable service provider. But what exactly makes a good auto
repair shop? These are some of the things you should look out for:</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

to inquire about the services offered and the charges of the same. If it sounds
as if the person on the other hand is genuinely interested in helping you, then
you can go ahead and visit the auto repair shop. The best auto repair shops
understand that satisfying the customer is key, and that professionalism,
respect and open communication are part of that process.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>

of important engine components. Given the role played by oil in the functioning
of the engine, you should regularly check its level. Do not forget to top it up
using the correct grade of oil in accordance with the manufacturer’s

<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">The more you pay attention to your car, the easier it’s
going to be for you to detect common vehicle problems before they advance and
become very costly to repair. Auto repair issues cannot go unnoticed for long
especially if you are keen enough as a car owner. You may notice some unusual
odors or simply sense a difference in the way your car operates. We’ll just
look at a few signs of trouble that most car owners have experienced at some
point in time.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Strange fluid leaks<br /><br /><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">If you notice some red oily spots on your car, it could be a
transmission fluid leak. In fact, look out for fluids that leak from your car
because it’s certainly not normal. Consider the color and consistency of these
fluids. You may notice a black oily fluid if your car’s engine is leaking oil.
Clear water is usually normal because it’s caused by condensation from the
vehicle’s air conditioner. But a fluid with an orange color may indicate
trouble so take the car to the mechanic for repairs.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Unusual noises<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">You may notice some unusual squeals, clicks, clunks and
screeches coming from your car. It’s very important to take the car for
immediate diagnosis and repair because these noises may signify serious
trouble. For instance, clicks and squeals usually occur when there’s an issue
with the engine speed or a loose component like a wheel cover or fan blade
that’s not intact. Your brakes will screech to tell you that it’s time for
maintenance. Basically noises emanating from your car mean that something needs
to be fixed. Sometimes the car will start making weird noises because of using
gas with the wrong octane rating than what has been recommended by the
manufacturer. You need to ask your mechanic to explain the reason for any kind
of unusual noise and how you can prevent it from reoccurring.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Sharp odors emanating from your car usually signal
something. If you notice a burning smell, make sure the issue is diagnosed
because it could be an electrical shock or burning insulation. The smell of
gasoline vapors could signal a leak in the fuel system. This is an issue that
can be very dangerous when left to escalate. You need to have a mechanic repair
that immediately. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><br />Preventative maintenance is very important because it helps
to avoid costly breakdowns. Issues like changing the oil can end up costing you
a lot of money and making your car unreliable. To find out how often your car
needs routine maintenance, you need to check your owner’s manual. The number of
times the car needs maintenance will largely depend on your type of driving. If
you use your car quite often then you’ll need more frequent servicing than what
the manufacturer has recommended. The best person to advice on this would be
your mechanic who also understands the condition of your car. F</span><a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="_GoBack" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"></a><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">ind
a suitable maintenance schedule and you’ll keep your car in perfect condition.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Detecting some car problems can save you a lot of
money in the long run. You may also avoid some serious car accidents by seeking
repairs before issues escalate. If you are a car owner, no one knows that automobile
more than you. So you need to watch out for signs of trouble. Below are a
couple of common signs that indicate your car needs urgent repairs.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">One of the most common signs of problems with your
car’s transmission system is if you notice a reddish fluid leaking from
underneath your car. There’s a high chance that the level of transmission oil
has gone down and you need to call your mechanic and have it checked. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">The cracks and holes on the car’s windshield may not look
like something serious but ignoring them can cause extensive damage. You don’t
need to install a new windshield. You can have your mechanic cover the holes

<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Today's
cars are becoming increasingly more complex, meaning that domestic car repair
requires advanced expertise now more often than not. Unfortunately, this also
means that as the general public is less likely to have the knowledge necessary
to fix their own cars, some domestic car repair shops are more likely to take
advantage of their customers' ignorance.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">As it
turns out, not knowing much about domestic car repair can end up costing you
quite a bit if your mechanic recommends unnecessary repairs. The Internet
abounds with complaints and lawsuits alleging that auto repair shops charged
their customers for unnecessary repairs. Here are 5 ways to protect oneself
from being a victim in a similar case.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">1:
Research every domestic car repair shop you are considering. Thorough research
is your number one best weapon against devious mechanics. This means checking
out a repair shop through ever means available to you: word-of-mouth, the
Internet, and resources such as the Better Business Bureau.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Ask
around to see if anyone you know has used the repair shops you are considering,
and whether their experiences were good or bad. You can also search for each
repair shop's name on the Internet, as there are many forums online where
people can post complaints, or praise, about their mechanics. Resources such as
the Better Business Bureau can be found online and offline, and offer a way to
check a business's standing and whether there are any unresolved complaints
against them.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">2:
Ask for recommendations. This isn't quite the same as independently researching
domestic car repair shops. If you don't even know where to start, or you would
rather go to a shop with which someone you know has had personal experience,
you can ask around for recommendations. Rank recommendation according to how
long your friend has been taking their car there for example, if they have been
using the same mechanic for fifteen years, their recommendation means more than
someone's who has just used that mechanic once.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">3:
Ask lots of questions. It's perfectly fine to ask lots of questions before
making a final decision to take your car there. For instance, you might want to
ask about their prices, their guarantees or warrantees, how much experience
their mechanics have, whether they have won any awards, and how they handle
customer complaints.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Another
thing to ask about is the repair work you need done. Asking many thorough,
intelligent questions about the repairs that will need to be done, and any
related systems, indicates that you are interested in knowing more about your
car. It also indicates that you are not an easy person to take advantage of.
Finally, a repair shop that is unwilling to answer your questions should
indicate that you are better off taking your car elsewhere.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">4:
Show an interest in your car. When you take your car in for repairs, it is best
not to leave it alone while you go to work or shop. Waiting for your car makes
it harder for the repair shop to get away with unnecessary repairs. The shop
needs to ask for approval before performing any work other than what you
originally requested, and if you are right there waiting it will be easier to
request a detailed explanation of the repair and why your car needs it.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">On
the other hand, in cases where the repair shop calls to request permission, the
customer usually requests less information before approving the repair and
repair shops know this. Leaving is a sign that you are too busy to care about
keeping tabs on your car's repairs.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">5:
Request to see the problem. You often have a legal right to see the damaged
part. This ensures two things: One, that the repair shop actually did replace
the part, and didn't just clean the original part up and charge you for a
replacement they never installed, and two, that the part did in fact need to be
replaced.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">When
asking to see a damaged part, always request that they show you the problem,
that is, why the part needed to be replaced in the first place. Also ask to see
the new part if they have it on hand, on the grounds that you would like to see
the difference or see what an undamaged part looks like. If you are waiting for
your car when they ask your permission, ask to see the problem before approving
the repair work.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">The
reason why domestic car repair shops get away with making unnecessary repairs
is usually because the customer is too lazy to verify the need for the repair.
You may have heard that a thief or rapist is more likely to choose a victim
whose body language indicates that she is an easy target. The same goes with
domestic car repair. The more interest and intelligence you show when dealing
with an auto repair shop, the less likely a dishonest mechanic is to try to
push unnecessary repairs on you. Your best method of protecting yourself is
therefore to be as informed, and as involved, as possible.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18pt; margin-bottom: 12pt;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Your mechanic can be your
best friend or your worst enemy. It all depends on the steps you take in hiring
him. When there is a car problem, the first person you call is your mechanic.
If he is a good mechanic, he will get you back on the road within a few hours
without straining your finances. Do you want a technician you can count on? If
yes, you have to ensure he possesses all the following qualities. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Great customer service <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">To get the best services,
you have to work with someone who is willing to listen to your needs and
explain the problem to you in detail. Such a mechanic is the one with the best
customer service skills. He will put you at ease during repairs and diagnosis
of your car. Simply put, a service provider with strong communication skills
will give you the much deserved peace of mind. You can be assured there will be
no surprises. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Great diagnostic skills<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">A mechanic is only as
good as his diagnostic skills. You don’t want someone who will replace the
wrong component and charge you for it. A great service provider should be able
to identify problems quickly and find a lasting solution. He should also be
familiar with the diagnostic resources and make extensive use of them. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Problem solving skills<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Auto mechanics deal with
problem after problem on a daily basis. To be a dependable service provider,
the person you hire must have great problem solving skills to identify problems
and suggest the best solutions. He should be a fast thinker. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Great work ethics<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">If he lacks proper work
ethics, he will be burden to you. Such a mechanic will use substandard
components, send you exaggerated invoices and even fail to complete the work on
the stipulated time. It is for this reason that you should only work with auto
mechanics with a proven track record of delivering reliable services. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Up-to-date equipment <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Vehicles are evolving
continually. Modern day vehicles come with an onboard computer that controls
practically everything. If the technician lacks the right tools, he might end
up misdiagnosing your vehicle and even causing more damage. To be able to
diagnose problems and address a range of problems with ease, the mechanic must
have the latest tools so as to best serve the customers. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Certified <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">You don’t want to take
your car to just any mechanic that your friends recommend. You need someone who
is certified to work on your model of car. Being certified shows a sense of
ambition and motivation on the part of the mechanic. Certification will also
show that the service provider is up-to-date on the latest techniques and
technologies. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">The aforementioned
qualities are essential in a mechanic. They are what guarantee you will get the
best services at the end of the day. All in all, you should always follow your
instincts. You want to work with someone you can trust not someone that will
rob you the peace of mind.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 115%;">

<span style="background: white; font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;">Don't feel helpless when dealing with your car's need for
repairs. Your knowledge about how to</span><span style="font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
<span style="background: white;">deal with repairs protects that big investment
you have in your car. This article will guide you</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">through all you need to know about auto repair.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">Do you have a hard time starting your car? Your
battery probably needs to be recharged or</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">replaced. You need to check the state of charge
of your battery. You can use a hydrometer or a</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">voltmeter depending on the type of battery you
have. If you have been regularly recharging your</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">battery, it might be time for a new one.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">Check the transmission fluid every two to three
months. Let your engine run and open the hood of</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">your car. Use the transmission dipstick to check
the fluid levels. If there is not enough fluid in</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">your transmission you probably have a leak
somewhere in your system. It is best to take the car to</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">a mechanic so he can locate the leak.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">It is important to maintain the level of your
brake fluid. The brake fluid compartment is usually</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">close to the engine and should be checked
regularly. Make sure the compartment is two third full</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">and add more brake fluid if you need to. There
might be a leak in your system if you often need to</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">add more brake fluid.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">You don't always have to take your car to the
shop when there is an issue. There are a few things</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">that you can fix easily yourself. If you feel
confident, you can get on the Internet and research</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">to discover the problem. If it's easy, you can
repair the problem yourself, and save money too.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">Be sure to read your owner's manual to find out
what kinds of fluids (oil, brake fluid,</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">transmission fluid, steering fluid) your car
needs and to learn how to check and top these off</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">yourself. Keep a few bottles of each fluid in
the trunk of your car in case of emergencies.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">To save a trip to the auto repair shop, you
should take a look at your owner's manual. Here, you</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">may find hints or perhaps answers to questions
you may have about your vehicle. It can be quite</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">helpful to know the size of your engine or its
configuration, which is usually found in the</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">manual.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">Always ask about the certification and the
insurance of a mechanic before letting them fix your</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">car. If something goes wrong, the mechanic's
insurance will cover damages and usually provides you</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">with a car you can drive until yours is fixed. A
mechanic who is not certified does not have an</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">insurance either.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">Just like at the doctor, you can get a second
opinion before agreeing to costly repairs. A</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">reputable shop should not be padding the bill,
but it does not hurt to see what another</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">professional thinks about the situation. If you
are still nervous, the dealer is always an option.</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">It will be more expensive, but they tend to
someone checking over their shoulder more often.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">You should now realize that improving your auto
repair approach can save you time and money. The</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">information in this piece should give you the
confidence you need to tackle auto repair questions.</span><br />
<span style="background: white;">Keep these tips in mind to get the results you
need.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">You can never be at peace if you take your car to an
auto shop which you don’t trust. Your auto mechanic should be someone who is
honest and very professional in their dealings. But finding someone you can
trust to repair your most valuable investment can be a daunting task. To help
you determine if you got the right auto mechanic, we will go through a list of
things that professional auto shops do. If you don’t experience this kind of
service in your local auto shop, it’s time to start looking for a replacement.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">This may seem funny but it’s always important to ask
for your old parts so that you can confirm that they were indeed replaced. Some
untrusted auto mechanics will insist on a replacement when the parts didn’t
need to be replaced in the first place. Asking for your parts back will help
you to ensure you’ve gotten your money’s worth.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Some mechanics charge two labor costs if they fix
several things in your car. This is absolutely wrong. A good auto shop will
have a price for the total job done so you won’t have to pay for any services
twice. Get quotes from several auto shops in your area and then compare to see
who offers the most reasonable rates. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

you have a serious auto issue that requires costly repairs. You should start by
consulting your dealer. In many cases, faulty parts can be covered by your
warranty and repaired free of charge by your dealer. So before you rush to the
auto shop and spend so much money on repairs, you better check with the dealer.
Additionally, compare the cost of getting the same repair in other auto shops
if you feel like the prices they just quoted were too high. But also remember
that it’s important for the repairs to be done by the best auto shop.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Automobiles are wonderful machines that ease
the process of transportation. Being able to get from point A to point B is
very important to our daily existences. Being able to safely stop at our final
destinations is another important aspect of transportation that we take for
granted. There are some simple and effective brake repair and maintenance
methods that you or a hired professional can perform to ensure that you can
safely stop your vehicle when the time comes. Let's take a look at the most
popular method of brake repair, as well as some warning signs that you may want
to know.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Bleeding<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Your car's wheels are stopped by a series of
restraints and pads. There are lines filled with fluid that transfer pressure
from the controlling mechanism to the pads on the wheels, effectively stopping
the automobile. These lines need to be bled every one to two years to ensure
that air does not get in them. If too much air enters your lines, you can
experience complete failure of your car's restraint system. Vacuums and one-way
bleeder valves are available for purchase at your local auto store, so you can
accomplish this job by yourself. You can also bleed your lines with a friend.
This is known as the pump and hold method. One person must pump the car's restraint
pedal and hold it down. The other person needs to be underneath the car to
release the valves and release the fluid and any air that may have gotten in.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Signs to Look Out For<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">- Worn out pads can cause you serious problems
with stopping. Most automobiles have a restraint system that is similar to a
ten-speed bicycle. There are padded discs that clamp the tires and slow the
car, eventually bringing it to a complete stop. After these pads have been used
healthily, they begin to wear down and become less effective at stopping your
car. Luckily, you can see your pads from outside your vehicle. Take a look at
your pads, and if they are less than a quarter of an inch thick, you should
change them.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">- Strange sounds are often an indicator that
your pads could use a change. A high-pitched whining sound that occurs when you
apply pressure to your restraint pedal generally indicates that your pads are
getting thin. This sound also occurs when you have wet brakes. If it just
rained, you should look at your pads for yourself before you freak out. A harsh
grinding sound means you need brake repair. This indicates that you have little
or no pads left and should bring your car in for maintenance as soon as
possible.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">- Pulling to the left or the right when you
apply pressure to your restraint pedal is a sure sign of a caliber problem.
When one of these parts gets stuck, it does not effectively stop the tire it
operates on. This creates the pulling sensation that you feel behind the wheel.
If this occurs in your vehicle, you should bring it in for maintenance before
the problem worsens.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Brake repair is just as important as any other
standard vehicle maintenance. It is a vital function that should not be
overlooked. The consequences of doing so could be tragic.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Auto Repairs that should be done by a Professional<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">When there’s something wrong with your car, it’s easy
to be tempted to repair it on your own. But before you go ahead and cause more
damage, you need to read this first. Here are 7 auto repairs that are best
handled by an auto shop. They’ll always do it better- and much faster than you
ever will.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<ul style="margin-top: 0in;" type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Air
conditioning issues: Your car’s air conditioning system can fail
unexpectedly and the last thing you want to do is try to repair it on your
own. This system involves the use of various components and tubing that
makes it quite sensitive. Make a wrong move and you’ll have to get it
replaced completely.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Gas tanks and
air bags: There are certain areas of your car that you shouldn’t be
messing with. If you are trying to do any repairs around the steering
wheel or dash panel, remember there are airbags somewhere there and they
can explode anytime causing significant injury. Keep off the gas tank too.
<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Windshield
replacement: Yes, there is a lot of DIY information going on how to
replace a damaged windshield. But this is not a job you want to handle on
your own. First, you don’t have the manpower to handle a huge piece of
glass and secondly, you lack the skill to install it with the required
precision. Contact your local glass specialists when you need to replace
the windshield. <o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Wheel
balancing: Wheel balancing should be done at the auto repair shop because
it will be done right using dedicated equipment and training. The same
goes for tire balancing. This is not something you can manage to do
correctly in your garage. It requires special equipment and skill. If done
wrong, you’ll be risking your life driving that car.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Body repairs:
If your car’s body has been severely damaged, the next thing you should do
is to take it to the auto shop, if it hasn’t been written off. Bodywork is
very demanding and no one can handle it without the required skill and
equipment. You need to find someone who has the experience in working on
bodywork in order to make it look right. <o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Electrical
issues: When the electrical components on your car are experiencing
issues, it’s best to have a professional check them out. Sometimes even
basic wiring can be very dangerous. Electrical wires on vehicles are
complex and rigorous so they need to be done by an expert.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Replacing a
clutch: Perhaps it may not be one of the toughest auto repair jobs but it’s
best done by a professional. Sometimes you’ll have to remove the engine in
order to change the clutch and ensure it is positioned perfectly. This is
not something you want to do on your own. The heavy lifting will require
some muscle and the positioning also needs some level of skill. <o:p></o:p></span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Before you begin any car repairs, remember that it’s
always wise to consult an auto expert you trust and remember you can’t manage
without professional assistance.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Tire balancing and wheel alignment are some of the most common auto repair services offered by technicians. When you buy new car tires, you may consider performing a wheel alignment. Having an alignment done can save you a lot of costs in the long run.<br /><br />The importance of wheel alignment<br /><br />Having a wheel alignment done will help to significantly increase the life of your new tires. During the wheel alignment, the steering and suspension of your vehicle is going to be adjusted in order to ensure that the tires don't wear out overtime. Alignment is also important because it ensures the car handles corners smoothly.<br /><br />Wheel alignment is needed overtime because as you drive, your car's steering and suspension systems are pushed causing the ball & socket joints, bushings and other mechanical links to wear out. This makes the alignment deflect from the factory specifications. If nothing is done to improve the alignment, your car will have poor cornering and handling which also makes the tires wear out.<br /><br />There are basically 3 types of wheel alignment angles: camber, toe and caster. The camber angle measures whether the top of the tire is tilting outward or inward due to worn ball joints or severely worn out wheel bearings. The toe angle affects the car's tires and steering wheel. If the angle is in or out too far, your tires will begin to wear out quickly and the steering wheel will look crooked. The caster angle is what is responsible for the steering wheel returning to its original position when you make a turn.<br /><br />Importance of tire balancing<br /><br />You'll need tire balancing as soon as you buy the new tires. This process is performed to ensure that all the tires balance with wheel weights to facilitate smooth rolling of the tire. When there's an imbalance, the steering wheel will rock back and forth as you drive especially when you reach a certain speed.<br /><br />When you take your car to the auto technician for tire balancing, they'll mount it on a rim and then use a machine that is designed to spin the tires and check the location of imbalance and how severe it is. Once the problem is fixed, the technician will spin the tires again using the machine to ensure the tires are properly balanced.<br /><br />Tire imbalance can occur when the rubber that is used in making it wears off overtime. That is why it is important to check your tires for imbalance every 6 months and ensure they are rebalanced. Tire imbalance can cause severe accidents especially when the car is driven at fast speeds.<br /><br />Tire balancing and wheel alignment can be done together. These services will help you to avoid budgeting for new tires soon. Even though they can be pretty expensive, they'll prevent serious accidents and increase the service life of your car. Just ensure you visit a well known auto repair shop and find a technician who is skilled and equipped to offer these services.</div>

<span style="line-height: 107%;">When we buy a
new car, we often take for granted that it will work perfectly fine right off
the assembly line. Unfortunately, care manufacturers often make mistakes,
either through a faulty design or errors made by workers in the assembly
process.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">As a result, many of these design errors could cause you or
others you share the road with to crash, leading to injury or death. Below is a
list of some of the most common automotive defects.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">1) Faulty airbags. These devices were installed to keep you
safe, but can be part of the problem if not functioning correctly. Some airbags
have been known to deploy while driving, obscuring the road from the driver and
causing a crash. In other cases, the airbags do not properly deploy on impact,
allowing significant blunt trauma to occur to the driver.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">2) Faulty seat belts. Like airbags, seat belts occasionally
malfunction at an opportune times and can become loose during an accident when
the passenger needs them the most.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">3) Faulty accelerator pedals. There have been several car
manufacturers who have reported problems with the car acceleration system. The
driver can be going along at normal speed and then all of the sudden the car
undergoes a sudden acceleration, often causing the driver to hit the car in
front of him. Sometimes the pedal literally just falls to the floor without
warning.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">4) Faulty tires. Tires are some of the most important
components on a vehicle to insure a safe drive. A faulty tire can all of the
sudden blow out in the middle of the freeway, causing the car to spiral
dangerously out of control. Faulty tires can also fail to properly grip the
road, especially in bad weather, due to flaws in tread design or rubber used to
make it.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">5) Bad brakes. Brakes are critical to the safety of your
car. Some of the most serious accidents occur when the brakes fail and the
driver cannot stop before slamming into another motorist or off the side of the
road. Even if the brakes engage, but only partially stop the, they can result in
an accident. Brakes can also engage prematurely, which can be particularly
dangerous on high speed thoroughfares.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">6) Faulty gas tank. A gas tank that either leaks or allows
sparks access to the fuel inside can be particularly dangerous, especially
during a crash. Sometimes the gas tank can even be placed improperly making it
more likely to fail in the event of an accident, leading to a large explosion
before the passengers have a chance to escape the car.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">7) Fuel line defects. Similar to issues with the gas tank, a
faulting gas line can literally be an explosive problem.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">8) Flawed car design. Engineers often can fail when planning
out the overall design of the car in terms of its center of mass. For example,
if the car or van is too top heavy it could have a propensity to tip over when
making modest turns at high speed.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">9) Power steering failure. Many Americans have gotten used
to how easy it is to maneuver their cars with power steering. The problem is
that this ease comes with the price of being dependent on technology. If the
power steering fails while you are driving, particularly if you are driving at
a high speed, you could literally lose control of the car at a most inopportune
time.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">10) Defective electronics. It has been reported recently
that certain GPS mapping systems have led drivers into hazardous conditions due
to programming glitches in the GPS mapping software. Many drivers take GPS for
granted and often do not expect their systems to fail or report incorrect
directions. This has been known to lead some drivers into dangerous traffic
circumstances.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">The list above represents a list of some of the most common
automotive defects consumers experience with a new car. As a result, if you
plan on buying a new car it pays to pay attention to any independent consumer
alerts and insist on a thorough inspection prior to trusting your loved ones
lives with the vehicle.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">In the event of being involved in a collision due to a
defective auto part, be sure to contact a reputable car accident attorney to
help protect your interests and explore your legal options.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">Being stranded in the middle of nowhere with your car broken down is probably a car owner's worst nightmare. Do not ignore that serious red 'check engine light' reminding you to get your car serviced. While your car may still run smoothly, there are a lot of intricate details you may have missed out. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">So who do you turn to when you need something a little more elaborate than an oil change? Your local auto shop offers premium services to all of its customers and provides holistic care for your car. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">How to Cover your Basics? </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">There are a number of easy ways to check if your car is in need of a few basic mechanical services. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">The new electronic ignition technology provides for better and faster engine starts. However, it often results in a lot of misfires and coils. So if you hear a noise every time you start your car, ensure your next stop is the garage. You local technicians are trained to handle this niche area as it is relatively complex and needs specific equipment. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">All potholes and bad road conditions are absorbed by your car's suspension. They are a series of springs that absorb shocks/struts ensuring you feel as little of a bump as possible. You can usually tell when your suspension is a little off if you feel a twinge of strain on your back or hear a dull rattling noise every time you encounter bad roads </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">The tires are the most important part of the car after the engine. Adequate care to the tires means ensuring there is the right amount of pressure at all times, checking for wear and tear as well as the alignment. Alignment is what helps keep a car steady especially at high speeds. A good way to check if your alignment is a little off is to gently release your hand from the steering on a regular straight road and observe which way the car diverts. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">One thing you are bound to notice as your car gets old is a decrease in fuel efficiency. This is because the efficacy of the fuel injectors, fuel systems and fuel pump is reduced due to long term use. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">Vehicles these days come with a timing belt that keeps the engine running smooth. While these do not give an indication before they stretch, crack and break, it's recommend that you get them replaced every 60,000 miles. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">Other Services </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">They should also take care of all your car cooling needs. Most cars come with a belt that functions on a system of pulleys to work the coolant system of the car. They also have radiator hoses made out of rubber, and the belt and hoses are exposed to extreme conditions. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">Getting Your Vehicle Ready for Autumn and Winter </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">With the end of summer and its transition to winter, your car needs a little extra care. The coolant system and air conditioning needs to be working impeccably so it can defrost the car quicker and keep you warmer in the snow. Your batteries need to be charged as you will need that extra power to start your car after a night of snow. Also carry out all oil changes to keep it running smooth in the harsh winter. Carry out a check for emissions as well as CV joints.</span><br />

<span style="line-height: 107%;">Like death and taxes, as long as you own a vehicle rest
assured that you will one day need an auto body repair done. Depending on the
scale of the repair, you may need the services of a reliable auto repair
center.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Many automobile owners usually console themselves with the
fact that, many vehicle brands have their car dealership centers where they can
get repairs done.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">While this may be practical in the short run, it will not
always be the case. The proximity and repair costs, associated with car
dealership centers, may be outweighed by local repair shops.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">One of the things you need to be watchful for, is the
ethical and professional conducts of these repair shops. The last thing you need
is a shop where the attendants will lie to you about the nature of repairs
required so as to extort more money from you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Some of them even replace your OEM parts with fake ones. To
avoid all this, you have to make your decisions early enough so as to steer
clear of desperate last minute measures.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Discussed below are some of the tips that you can put into
practice when looking for auto body repair shops.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Start Looking Early Enough<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Decisions made in the last minute are usually faulty and
misleading. Just the same way you will not want to entrust your vehicle to the
hands of a stranger, you need to start searching for the appropriate auto shop
early.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Making use of recommendations from friends and colleagues,
will help you in identifying reliable shops. Get enough time to sample each of
these repair facilities.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Conduct a Wholesome Evaluation<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">There is a tendency among clients to only consider the cost
element when shopping for repair facilities. The danger with this lies in the
fact that, the cost alone, cannot give you a comprehensive feel of the services
offered.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">You need to understand the policies that are in operation,
the experience of other customers and many other parameters. Going through
customer reviews will help you with this.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Assess the Level of Organization and Activity<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">A good auto body repair shop needs to be organized with the
technicians conducting themselves in a professional manner. A disorganized auto
shop can easily mishandle your car, leading to further damages and liabilities.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Also, the level of activity around and about the shop is
important. If it looks too busy, you should be worried because they may hold
your vehicle longer before it is attended to.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">This may inconvenience you especially if you are having
other errands to run. The attention given to your vehicle may also be so little
that other areas go unrepaired.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">The Customer Attitudes </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br />
When you visit an auto shop, you should also be observant of the customer
attitudes, especially when paying or waiting in the queue for their repairs. The
attitudes will tell you the kind of environment that's prevailing.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">If they are happy and jovial, this should immediately tell
you that the services are good and appreciated. However, if they are angry,
this should signal bad service and dissatisfaction.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">How Long the Repair Shop Has Been in Operation<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">This may seem like a minuscule detail, but it is equally
important. In business, more so service businesses, brand matters. Repair shops
that have been in operation for a long time, depend mostly on their goodwill,
brand superiority and repeat purchases.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Such shops will tend to provide quality services so as to
preserve</span><span style="line-height: 107%;"> their image. On the other hand, repair shops that have been newly
established may not be as sensitive to their brand. This means that they can
mishandle your vehicle without fear of losing you. After all, other customers
will come to experiment with their services.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Test Their Services with Minor Repairs and Procedures<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Entrusting a shop with full scale auto body repairs is a
risky affair. This is especially the case where you are testing the waters, as
far as their services are concerned.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">To be on the safe side, engage the technicians with minor
assessments and procedures, such as oil and tire change. This will give you a
general feel and insight into the nature and quality of their services.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;">Remember, it is not difficult to get a well-grounded auto
repair shop to service your vehicle. All you need is a good research, done well
in advance.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="line-height: 107%;"><br /></span></div>
